M. General rules ( short grammar rules)

1. Sentence word order

Subject + Verb + Object + Adverbials ( How"manner" + Where"place" + When"time" )

We ate our meal in silence.

2. Present perfect simple.
S+Have+VERB  past participle

A.For an action which started in the past, but is going on up to the present. (Pentru o acţiune care a început în trecut, dar se întâmplă până în prezent.)
I have known him for years.
I have taught at this school for twenty years. (I'm teacher here )
Am predat la aceasta scoala de 20 de ani.

B. For an action which started in the past, and has consequences into the present.
I have read this novel. ( I can speak about it. )

C. To express completion of the action, i.e. it has been finished.
Who's drunk my milk? ( the glass is empty ) 
I've looked over all the papers. ( I've finished looking over them )
D. When the time of the action is not metioned and till now is understood.
Have you had lunch ?
Have you seen them ?
3. Present perfect continuous.
S+HAVE BEEN+ VERB present continuous

A.For an action which started in the past, but is going on up to the present too.(Pentru o acţiune care a început în trecut, dar se întâmplă până în prezent de asemenea.)
I've been teaching at this school for twenty years. ( So I know the situation better. )
You've been insisting on that lately. ( That gets on my nerves. )
  
B. For an action which started in the past, but it is still continuing.
Why are you crying ? Because I've been peeling onions.

C. To show that the action hasn't been finished.
Who's been drinking my milk ? ( there is a little milk left )
I've been looking over the papers. ( I haven't finished them, I'm still looking over them )


D. When the time of the action is not metnioned, till now is understood and stress is laid on duration.
I've been working a lot.You are lot. You've been running.
